Tips and tricks for the ideal setup of your piiq smart mirror

Here are some tips and tricks to find the best possible in-salon setup for your piiq smart mirror - feel free to watch this setup video with the stand or this unboxing and wallmount setup video as well.

  1. Size: The foot of the stand requires 21.5cm in depth and 56cm in width and fits on most tables. The Smart Mirror itself is 83cm high with a 60x80 portrait screen and can be mounted 10-15cm higher with different fixations on the back of the stand.

  2. Positioning: We initially recommend having one piiq Smart Mirror in the salon either in a visible position near the entrance or in the middle to funnel your clients through this central "futuristic consultation seat”…

  3. Electricity: You need one power outlet nearby.

  4. Mounting: Attaching the stand only takes 5 minutes and 8 bolts. Start with the stand to test different positioning, factoring in the lighting and activities in the background as well, before deciding to use the wall mount that comes in the box.

  5. Tables: If your salon mirror extends down to the floor, we recommend you buy one of these IKEA side tables to trial your Smart Mirror in front of your preexisting mirror.

  6. WiFi: Please make sure you have a decent internet connection where your mirror is placed and make sure your router has a 2.4GHz network (5GHz networks won’t work).

Other tips and tricks to maximise the effectiveness and experience of your piiq Smart Mirror to increase your product sales and in-salon consultation experience:

  • Online Bookings: If you use an online booking system, we recommend you add a “Futuristic style consultation” as a paid or free service to your catalogue.

  • Local promos: If you need help with local promos to attract new clients with this futuristic experience, feel free to contact us… We have a free promo kit for you that can even spark a social media hype in the 2-5km around your salon.

  • Video trainings: Want some tips and tricks from our founder Richard Kavanagh…? Styling tips are built into the mirror under “piiq Academy” on the “Select Stylist” screen of the piiq tablet and you can find a whole video step-by-step guide here

Have fun and kick some goals.
